VELA Performance is an internationally operating full-service engineering provider in the automotive and non-automotive industry.
As a lightweight engineering specialist, we develop high-performance components and systems for automobiles, commercial vehicles and bikes and even build complete prototypes in our in-house workshop.
Our technologies are also used in aviation and medical technology.

Your tasks & job description:

  • development of the chassis systems: brakes, springs/damping, steering

  • development of structural components, springs, dampers, stabilizers and connections as well as design of the integration components from the concept phase to series production in collaboration with vehicle dynamics integration and our suppliers

  • carrying out concept studies for the chassis system

  • establishing system requirements and carrying out requirements analyses

  • derivation of system requirements from customer inquiries

  • creation of system specifications on behalf of the customer

  • creation of work packages and specifications

  • coordination of internal development tasks

  • support of subcontractors

  • planning and carrying out verification activities

  • preparation and execution of team meetings and reviews

  • coordination and monitoring of the development process until it is ready for series production (internal/external)

  • budget and deadline responsibility for the technical scope

  • representation of chassis development in the exchange of experiences with other projects

  • participation in the development, creation and implementation of innovative solutions

Your abilities:

  • completed engineering studies in the fields of automotive technology, mechanical engineering or comparable

  • physical and material engineering understanding, as well as in-depth knowledge of vehicle technology and the various manufacturing processes

  • several years of professional experience in overall vehicle development with a focus on chassis development is desirable

  • experience in the conception, design and testing of chassis systems/components

  • high analytical expertise

  • first professional experience in leading a team

  • social skills, high communication skills, confident and convincing demeanor as well as creativity, independence and enthusiasm

  • very good knowledge of German and English
