The integrated vehicle model combines geometry-based applications with functional pre-design and enables efficient concept development while considering various requirements.

It provides precise tools for weight calculation, center of gravity determination, and inertia moment estimation, which can already be utilized in the early development phase.

A special focus is placed on body development: Geometric constraints, material selection, and construction methods are integrated into a comprehensive concept.

This is complemented by a thorough analysis of driving performance, fuel consumption, and driving behavior, based on geometry, weight, and drivetrain data.

Thanks to the direct coupling of the geometry module, product structure, and complete vehicle DMU, the model allows for rapid optimizations and variant studies. It forms the foundation for holistic vehicle concepts that combine technical efficiency and innovative solutions – ideal for modern vehicle manufacturers aiming to create future-proof mobility solutions.

Legal requirements for the type approval of vehicles and the market introduction of vehicle parts are becoming increasingly complex.

We support you from the early concept phase in ensuring legal compliance for:

  • Styling designs

  • Relevant systems for crash safety

  • Pedestrian protection regulations

  • Ergonomic conditions for vehicle occupants

for components, systems, and complete vehicles, we ensure compliance with the relevant legal guidelines.

Through vehicle safety simulations, our multidisciplinary CAE team uses various solvers to simulate different load cases in the various areas of passive safety.

The focus here is on development in the areas of structural crash, pedestrian protection, low-speed crash, and occupant protection.

 

We support and accompany manufacturers until approval at:

National level:

  • ABE § 22 StVZO operating permit for vehicle parts

  • ABE § 21 / § 19 StVZO full report/operating permit for vehicles
     

International level:

  • EU – Single approval according to Article 44 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858

  • EU – Small series approval Article 41 in conjunction with Annex II, Part I, Appendix 1 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858
     

Compliance with:

  • USA – FMVSS

  • China – CCC

  • Gulf States – GCC
     

We can handle these approvals in cooperation with national and international technical services upon request.

We define the geometric boundaries of your product early in the concept phase – based on legal requirements, functionality, and market demands.

The rough package can be further refined by adding package components, preventing later contradictions. Core processes such as geometry creation, geometric and functional validation are seamlessly integrated.

Our concept tool connects styling, design, and technical disciplines into a holistic vehicle model, efficiently managed by the vehicle architect. This provides an optimal foundation for aligning the vehicle architecture – from virtual ergonomics checks to creating a customized mass package.

By defining the main dimensions and relevant data in the 3D CAD model, we integrate boundary surfaces, crash test dummies, and components from geometry databases or existing models.

With parametric dummies for energy storage systems, modules for chassis, and predefined geometries for drivetrains, a coherent complete vehicle package is created. This allows for the early optimization of components, vehicle dimensions, and passenger space – the ideal foundation for a forward-looking vehicle design.

We integrate two-dimensional styling sketches into 3D CAD packaging models to optimize the alignment of technology and design early on.

Relevant boundary conditions from virtual vehicle models are directly incorporated into the styling process. Through neutral data interfaces, we enable seamless transfer of technical specifications, legal requirements, and space requirements into styling software.

Our hardpoint model secures these data and adjusts them according to project progress. In this way, we lay the foundation for efficient modifications and optimizations even in the early stages of development.
